Connection Matters ...
It has a been a while since I’ve made any posting and much has changed. We've all been affected by the pandemic - one way or another. Some good. Some bad.
But in 2021, I've made some major decisions - for which I am thankful. After many years being in the employment of one learning institution or another; I finally made the move to start my own enterprise and pursue what’s close to my heart. Among others; focusing on development of 21st Century Skills – sharing on the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to be competitive in the 21st Century workforce.
So, we’ve been busy, and I would say we have been lucky. ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّٰهِ We've received numerous invitations to share and working stints. Some were paid engagements and some were us sharing what we know and experienced - mainly because my team of enthusiastic and committed trainers just want to help out and connect.

But more importantly in the few months that we're fully onboard with this new adventure; we have had the pleasure of rekindling connections. Some were made more than 20 years ago, some 10 years ago. Of course there are many new connections. More importantly it is through these old connections that we have had the pleasure of securing some major trainings stints. Online for now. Soon face to face. You can’t imagine how happy and thankful we feel. A testament and affirmation of our research, course design skills etc. Needless to say, as a team we are humbled.
But I digress … what I want to share is what I’ve learnt in the last few months … about looking after the people who are your ‘connections.’ There is value in building and keeping relationships alive. There is value in efforts to build genuine rapport that is both honest and trustworthy- personally and professionally.
There is no denying that it takes both effort and time. It is worth the while. This goes for LinkedIn connection too. Don’t just ask to be a connection - communicate and where possible collaborate. Initiate and see what happens. Just my 2 cents.
So, have a great and awesome week to my existing connections and future connections!
