The Value of Goal Alignment

In this trying times where the only certainty is uncertainty where interstate travel is allowed one day and it’s lock down on a another day – smaller and mid-sized companies are at a unique position. The skills of employees are now even more critical to survive the business challenges and repercussions of the pandemic Covid-19. Generally smaller companies have to work harder at finding innovative ways to be smarter, cohesive and more productive than their larger competitors.

It also means that these companies need to work harder on getting employees aligned around the set of company’s goals and strategies. It’s about aligning goals of the employees with that of the organization. It’s also about making employees know exactly how they are able to help the company and therefore feel valued. It’s about individual empowerment. Studies show a dramatic increase in both worker and business performance when an organization effectively sets and closely ties individual employee goals to the company's overall strategy. It’s not about merely putting up goals and objectives on a deck of MS Powerpoint slide and share . It's about making commitment and it’s about working together to stay afloat and meeting goals.




Dikala masa yang penuh dengan cabaran ini – dimana keadaan bisnes tidak menentu - syarikat yang lebih kecil dan sederhana berada pada kedudukan yang unik dan mencabar. Kemahiran yang ada pada pekerja kini lebih kritikal dan perlu untuk bantu bisnes bertahan dalam menangani kesan daripada pandemik Covid-19. Syarikat-syarikat kecil dan sederhana terpaksa bekerja lebih keras dan cari cara inovatif dan bijak untuk membina daya saing.

Syarikat perlu bekerja lebih keras untuk pastikan pekerja sejajar dengan matlamat dan strategi syarikatla – perlu ada penjajaran matlamat pekerja dengan organisasi. Pekerja perlu faham bagaimana mereka dapat membantu syarikat dan oleh itu merasa dihargai. Ia adalah mengenai pemerkasaan individu. Kajian menunjukkan peningkatan dramatik dalam prestasi pekerja dan prestasi perniagaan apabila sesebuah organisasi berjaya menetapkan dan mengikat matlamat pekerja individu dengan strategi keseluruhan syarikat. Ia bukan hanya tentang meletakkan matlamat dan objektif pada dek slaid powerpoint MS. Ianya merangkumi menetapkan komitmen dan untuk kekal bekerjasama dan memenuhi matlamat.
